The Path

Every student walks the same belt journey

Progress is tracked through stripes and attendance. Each class covers basics, poomsae, sparring, breaking drills, and conditioning — one rank at a time.

Start White Belt Purity & innocence — no prior knowledge, an open mind ready to learn.

Attention stance, courtesy, basic blocks, and home respect goals.

Basics High White First seeds of discipline — the mind begins to take root.

Early footwork, loud kihaps, and sharp blocks with balance checks.

Foundation Yellow Belt Earth — the soil where seeds of TKD are planted and take root.

Balance, strong front stances, and first round of one-steps.

Balance High Yellow Roots deepening — the foundation grows stronger below the surface.

Confidence linking front and side kicks with self-defense combos.

Growth Green Belt Growth — TKD skills begin to sprout and develop like a young plant.

Power generation, sharper poomsae, and sparring drills.

Precision High Green Branching out — skills expand in new directions with more control.

Footwork triangles, counter-sparring, and advanced combinations.

Control Blue Belt Sky & heaven — the plant reaches toward the sky, growing tall and strong.

Ring control, board breaks, and intermediate sparring strategy.

Command High Blue Above the clouds — maturity deepens as leadership instincts sharpen.

Leadership reps, spin kicks, and coaching cues for junior students.

Power Red Belt Danger & passion — great power requires great self-control and respect.

Demo-ready power, teaching readiness, and board-break creativity.

Mastery High Red The summit within reach — one final test of focus, humility, and heart.

Testing rehearsals, mentoring, and black-belt mindset assignments.

Leadership Black Belt Darkness that shows no fear — mastery of self and the beginning of true learning.

Sharpen every pillar — forms, sparring, weapons, and service.

Common Questions

Everything families want to know before stepping on the mat for the first time.

How old does my child need to be to start?

Our Little Ninjas program starts at age 3. Kids & Family Taekwondo runs from around age 6 through teens, and adults are always welcome. There's no upper age limit — discipline and fitness apply at every stage of life.

Do you offer a trial class?

Yes! We welcome families to come watch or participate in a trial class before committing. Text us at (919) 533-9313 or use the contact form below to set up your first visit.

Does my child need prior martial arts experience?

None at all. Every student starts from the beginning. Master Ara and our instructor team guide each student at their own pace, building confidence and skills from the ground up.

What is the After School Success Program?

Our After School program provides transportation from local schools, homework assistance and academic support, and daily Taekwondo instruction — all in one supervised, structured environment for Chatham County families.

Do you offer classes in Spanish? / ¿Ofrecen clases en español?

Sí — Master Ara and our team are bilingual. All Spanish-speaking families are fully supported. Use the ES button in the header to switch this entire page to Spanish, or simply communicate with us in Spanish at any time.

What should my child wear to their first class?

Comfortable athletic clothes work perfectly for your first visit. Once you enroll, we'll guide you on uniform (dobok) options. No special gear is needed to start.

How often should we attend?

We recommend 2–3 classes per week to build momentum and see consistent progress. Classes run Monday through Friday, so there's schedule flexibility to fit your family's routine.

Is there a long-term contract?

We offer flexible membership options. Contact us to discuss what works best for your family — we want training to be accessible, not stressful.
